K Home International is a mid-size (~250 personnel) engineering contractor
based in Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees and with a substantial presence in
Dubai. Historically, it has served the local industrial market in the capacity
of detailed design and implementation contractor. The Process Department
was established some 10 years ago and currently numbers 10 engineers.
KHI undertakes projects ranging from concept / front end studies through
to detailed design and implementation. Sector coverage includes the following:
- Oil & Gas
- Metals & Minerals
- Chemicals & Petrochemicals
- Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemicals
- Renewable Energy
The Process Department has reviewed its skill and experience base to plan
for future requirements.
This review has highlighted the need for a specialist Process Safety and
Environmental Engineer.
The Engineer will be required to provide a lead role in the following
areas:
- Hazard studies, including HAZAN and HAZOP studies.
- Safety studies, including SIL classification assessment studies.
- Environmental engineering, including preparation of BAT assessments.
The appointed person will have a broad experience in at least two of the
areas above and will be able to demonstrate both qualification and competence
in leading HAZOP studies and the use of appropriate software.
The engineer will also be required to disseminate information and learning
to the other members of the Process Team as necessary and may also be required
to act for Clients on a temporary basis as an independent HAZOP Chairman,
should the demand arise.
The appointed person will also have to demonstrate both the willingness
and the capability to learn in these particular areas of chemical engineering.
The Department has a progressive attitude to continuing professional development
and candidates are encouraged to highlight areas of expertise where they
feel training would be of benefit.
This is a permanent staff role reporting to the Process Engineering Manager
and will be based in the Tees House office of K Home International.
