Responsible to the Engineering Manager (Process), you will work on a variety of KHI projects. 

Key responsibilities are:

• Leading design development (conceptual, front end and detailed).
• Production, checking and approval of design deliverables to the required quality, programme and cost and in accordance with KHI’s Quality Management System or, where applicable, the Client’s equivalent.
• Accounting for, and management of, the process engineering man-hours on projects for which you are Lead Process Engineer.
• Technical leadership of the process engineering on projects for which you are Lead Process Engineer.
• Giving due cognisance to Health and Safety issues at all times
• Submission of adequately detailed timesheets in a timely manner.
• Input to proposals and tenders as requested by the PEM.
• Mentoring of more junior personnel.

Day-to-day activities can include:

• Directing the workload of process engineers assigned to projects for which you are Lead Process Engineer.
• Generation, checking and approval of drawings and documents, such as P&ID’s, PFD’s, reports, calculations, specifications and data sheets.
• Checking documents generated by colleagues (where SQEP to do so)
• Carrying out tender analyses
• Attending and contributing to meetings with colleagues in the Process Department, other disciplines within KHI, prospective or actual vendors and clients.
• Visiting clients’ sites for discussions and walk-rounds.
• Other activities as required by the PEM.

You may also be required to give occasional presentations to your colleagues on specific subjects where you have specialist knowledge as requested by the PEM.

You may also be asked to attend clients’ sites for extended periods, either on secondment or for site activities including validation work and process commissioning.

You will also keep yourself and your colleagues (via the Team Meeting or otherwise) aware of developments within chemical engineering, whether of a technical or commercial nature.

At all times, you will comply with the requirements of the KHI Quality Management System unless otherwise directed by the PEM.
