The Process
Department of K Home International provides experienced
Process Engineers capable of undertaking all aspects
of Process Design.
The department has gained a broad portfolio of project
experience across the Chemical, Petrochemical, Fine
Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Oil & Gas industries.
A flexible approach to engineering is offered with
services ranging from provision of individual personnel
on a consultancy basis to fully integrated teams
of engineers for major projects.
The department has gained an excellent reputation
with its clientele, which has been demonstrated
by its ongoing record of repeat contracts.
STUDIES
Feasibility - Providing support to evaluate cost
benefits, project programmes and risks associated
with implementation of a project.
Debottlenecking - Working closely with clientele
to optimise process yield and quality, and provide
support to identify opportunities to improve existing
plant operation.
Expansion - Identification of major process and
equipment modifications to increase plant performance
and throughput capabilities.
PROCESS DESIGN
Conceptual Design - Identification of feasible
process routes, preparation of process flow diagrams
(PFD’s), preliminary piping and instrumentation
diagrams (P&ID’s), generation of order
of magnitude project costs. Subsequent development
of the design through to the sanction stage.
Detailed Design - Undertake all aspect of detailed
design including PFD’s, P&ID’s,
sizing calculations, specification of main plant
items, relief system design.
The department operates an extensive library of
modern software design tools; Intelligent P&ID’s,
Process Simulation Software (HYSYS & ASPEN),
Equipment Design and Analysis (TASC & ACOL),
Flare System Network Design (FLARENET) and dynamic,
transient and steady state network analysis software
(FLOWMASTER).
SAFETY ENGINEERING
Identification of the local, national,
international and corporate safety regulations and
guidelines to be applied to a project. This allows
a safety strategy to be developed to ensure that
all requirements are satisfied for the project lifecycle.
Services include: HAZOP Leadership; IPPC Studies
& Environmental Guidance; COMAH Compliance;
Quantified Risk Analysis; SIL Assessment; Area Classification;
ATEX Compliance & Implementation; Chemical Reactor
Relief System Design
PROCESS COMMISSIONING
Preparation of commissioning procedures. Provision
of commissioning engineering and start-up support.
